McClellan Butte is a formidable looking peak that you notice just south of I-90
west of Snoqualmie Pass. I decided to see what things looked like from the top.
The trail is not bad until about 200 feet from the top. At that point, it turns
into a steep scramble. I tied up the dogs, told them to stay, and climbed to
the top. 2 Minutes later, Buddy appeared at the top. 30 seconds later, Harley
followed dragging a broken leash. They had snapped the line on the retractable
leash (which had claimed to be good for dogs up to 200 pounds).
Total elevation gain is about 3800 feet to the 5200 foot peak.
