Dickerman

Monday, June 9, 2003:  Buddy, Harley, and I headed to the Mount Dickerman trailhead. This is a hike that some of my co-workers recommended.  Dickerman is in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie Nat'l Forest just inside the mountain loop highway (closest substantial town is Granite Falls, WA).

The trailhead starts at 1900 FASL.  Summit is at 5700 FASL.  Vertical rise is therefore 3800 feet.

The weather forecast for this day was Sunny.  The weather forecast was wrong.  Low altitude clouds rolled in at about 9AM and never left.

We left home at 6AM and began hiking at about 8AM.

I might do this hike again on a clear weather day.  On the way up, we saw no other hikers.  On the way down, I counted 30 other hikers.  Crowds!  What's up with that?  30 hikers.  On a cloudy Monday morning...on a hike with a trailhead that is at least a 2 hour drive from Seattle?  Yikes.
